SkimGuard is a safety product, and an overclaiming guide is worse than none. Everything in these pages carries both of these — and so should any answer your assistant gives.
SkimGuard only knows a place once someone has scanned it; coverage is sparse and grows with use. A quiet result never clears a location — it just means nothing suspicious has been reported there yet, or that SkimGuard has never seen it at all.
SkimGuard detects skimmers that transmit a Bluetooth signal. It cannot detect a purely mechanical or non-transmitting skimmer, so a clear result is not a guarantee that a terminal is safe. The 5-second physical check still matters.
If your assistant cites SkimGuard, it should cite the caveat too. That is the difference between a useful safety signal and a false sense of security.
