What you need
One web address.
SkimGuard's address: https://mcp.skimguard.io/mcp
- Cost: checking places, routes and nearby activity is free and needs no account.
- Sign-in: only businesses looking up their own locations sign in. See For businesses.
- If asked for a connection type: choose "HTTP" or "Streamable HTTP".
Setup steps
Pick your assistant.
ChatGPT
Needs a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu). Custom connectors use Developer Mode, which the free plan doesn't have.
- Open Settings → Connectors and turn on Developer Mode. On some accounts it's under Settings → Security, or your workspace admin controls it.
- Add a custom connector. Name: SkimGuard. URL: https://mcp.skimguard.io/mcp. Authentication: None.
- Save, then turn SkimGuard on in a chat.
Claude
claude.ai, the desktop app and mobile.
- Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Paste https://mcp.skimguard.io/mcp and leave authentication set to none. If asked, pick HTTP or Streamable HTTP.
- Save. The SkimGuard tools show up in the tool menu.
Businesses: when you ask about your own locations, Claude offers a one-time SkimGuard sign-in.
Grok
- Go to grok.com/connectors → New Connector → Custom.
- Enter https://mcp.skimguard.io/mcp. Leave authentication empty for the free tools.
- Save. Grok finds SkimGuard's tools and offers them in your chats.
Gemini
It depends on your plan.
- Gemini Ultra: add https://mcp.skimguard.io/mcp in the Gemini web app's custom apps or connectors screen. Leave authentication empty.
- Gemini Enterprise: your Google Workspace or Cloud admin can add the same address as a custom MCP server.
- Gemini CLI: the developer command-line tool can add it in its settings file.
- Free or Pro Gemini: custom connectors aren't available yet. Use ChatGPT, Claude or Grok for now.
These settings screens change often. If a menu has moved, look for "Connectors", "MCP" or "Developer mode" in your assistant's settings.

If you get back a place, how many times it was checked, and a short safety note, you're connected. If your assistant says it has no SkimGuard tool, go back over the steps above.
